Mark Hall has worked in the building design industry
for more than 30 years.

He began his career in Christchurch, New Zealand, after graduating from Christchurch Polytech with a Diploma in Architectural Drafting. Since then, Mark has worked in London, Perth, Cairns, Mission Beach and Townsville.

Mark and wife Lisa have operated their building design business in Townsville for the past 18 years. Originally known as "The Drafter", the business later took on the name of "Mark Hall Building Design and Drafting" to reflect the overwhelming design component in their work. The change was also driven by subsequent licensing of building designers, under the Building Services Authority. Then, in 2007 the business became a company and finally shed its diminishing drafting role.

Affiliations

Mark Hall has been a member of the Building Designers' Association of Queensland (BDAQ) since 1991. He has held a number of leadership roles within the BDAQ and currently serves as President of the Townsville/ Regional BDAQ branch.

The BDAQ is recognized by the Building Services Authority (Qld) and other statutory and non-statutory bodies as a legitimate professional association. The BDAQ ensures its members have ongoing access to industry updates, the latest product advances and innovations in design and building trends. Its members practise under a strict Code of Ethics.
